Most of you are too young to remember anything about the hippies. It was a very difficult time in our history but I was proud of the guys who burned their draft cards because the war made no sense to them.
Hmm.
Not to Get Too Political. But!, Since You Bring it up, I’ll Try to Trace My Personal Views on War. Be it a Popular or Unpopular Collective Thought of Blood Being Spilled.
When 9-11 Happened When The Smoke Cleared Everyone Cheered For Death of Anyone or Anything That Resembled Terrorism.
I Sometimes Find Myself in a Web of Mistrust, Sadness, Depression, Anger, And Hopelessness Within The Sphere of What’s Behind The Curtain of Politics.
But!, War is Something Entirely Unique.
The American Government Doesn’t Spread Endless Propaganda to Instill Fear into The Population Underneath The Printing Process of Money.
There is a President That Once Said, ‘It’s Not What Your Country Can Do For You, But What You Can Do For Your Country’. And if One Takes a Step Back And Realizes That (For The Most Part), There is Peace Among The Streets.
And if You’re Willing to Do Your Part. Lifting Your Percentage of The Weight With All The Freedom Given to us Americans. You Will Find, That The Country Will Give You What You Need to Get Through The Days. Usually Peacefully. (There’s an Exception to Every Rule of Course).
It’s Like Thus. The Government Will Do Almost Anything to Keep Americans Safe And Free.
And There Are Many Individuals That Would Love to Step Forward And Do Their Part. For The Future, The Children, The Women, And The Men Jus Unable to Take Part in The Wars.
It’s a Strange Illusion to Think Freedom is Free. Now I Personally Wish There Was a Much Different Way For Justice. I Actually Don’t Agree With War. But!, if The Government Asked Me to Do a Service For The Future. I Probably Would. With The Knowledge That The Government Wouldn’t Ask Me to Do Anything I am Unable to Do.
Speaking From What I’ve Witnessed Personally.
Keep it Cools Everyone!.

I think they were a few years older than me, but I’m still a hippie. I think they were in the late 60’s.
I was that age in the 70’s. I love hippie things.
In my home town that I spent my youth in there is a whole neo-hippie culture. People wear dreads and patchouli and they smoke pot.
From the little I know about the Vietnam War it was a lost cause. The Americans were destroyed before they even set foot on Vietnamese soil cos the Vietnamese knew the land so well we couldn’t get a stronghold there.
Did they even have hippies in Canada?
Hmm.
&
Neil Young~ ‘Tell Me Why’. (Song/Live at Massey Hall/1971). 10/10.

Wait. Is Neil Young from Canada? I just didn’t know if there was a hippie culture in Canada.
My son wanted to know if I was a hippy. I told him the hippies were the generation that raised my generation. My Mother protected me from the hippies lol. She thought they smelled bad. Some of our friends parents were hippies, usually we didn’t get to go with them.

Sarcasm of Course.

I have been called a old hippie many a time. It’s one of mine many names.
I have very vague memories of the hippies from when my father was British consul then commercial consul at the British consulate in San Francisco between 1965-1968.
I see myself as a bit of a neo-hippie. The original hippies were 15 or so years before my time but I’ve always liked their peacefulness and love of earth and harmony and vegetarianism. And their earthy dress style
I am 99% vegan and wear flip flops and long skirts all through the year and I love to recycle and be in harmony with nature
So I’m kind of a hippie in those ways

But I don’t do weed or free sex. I believe in marriage and commitment
Hippie generation was an interesting.
Me too

I prefer hippies, kind, positive people most of the time, there are modern hippies but they don’t call themselves that. I had a few friends that lived that way. Most judgemental people just call them stoners now.
I went to Canada in the 1980’s and they told me that they were pacifists who never have or will get involved in any war.
