The dog days of summer

Ugh…Still recovering from this incident so forgive me if I dont explain well.

Our neighbors dog is constantly getting loose. Sometimes he will enter our yard if you open the gate for him, as he likes to play with Maggie.

Today he was loose and dad , in his infinite wisdom, decided to open the gate with Maggie standing right next to him. So, of course, she runs out and joins him running free.

So, dads laughing, but I have to chase her down. She got about 2 blocks before I was able to get her to wait and catch her. Dads laughing really got on my nerves. I said “It’s not funny!” while I was chasing her.

When I got back he said something like “You shouldve let Fred(the neighbors dog) in the side side gate instead of trying to catch him”. Like trying to deflect the blame that he let Maggie out the main gate.

I am totally annoyed right now. He’s accidentally let her out like 4 or 5 times now. I always end up being the one chasing her down.

I’m a overweight, out of shape, 50 year old. Not my idea of a good time.

Well, my dad is taking me out to dinner now since mom is gone, so I guess I have to forgive him. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Well,

That resolved quickly!

Glad you’re cool with your dad now.

It’s true that seeing someone chase down a dog is hilarious,

But it’s not fun to be on the other side of that either.

My husband once filmed me trying to catch my neighbors pet rabbit that got out.

It was just me with my ass in the air trying to catch this stupid rabbit.

He was cracking up the whole time.

Terrible.

I finally got that little jerk though.
