The coffee is brewing, come on over

When I lived in America in the 1990s I often bought different types of coffee at the Farmers Market, some coffee tastes very excellent.

Iā€™m not criticising, but Iā€™ve always been of the opinion that people who go in for comparing the taste of coffee beans are really pretentious, Iā€™ve even been told that the best tasting coffee beans are those that have past through a camel. I do think there it is worth comparing how they are made though. Greek coffee in a jizviz is particularly special.

I enjoy a fresh cup of coffee and I also enjoy a nice espresso from time to time. I really like the taste of french roast but Iā€™ve heard it has less caffeine so that sort of defeats the purpose lol.

I love the smell of coffee too. Iā€™m on my 3rd cup of coffee, I think its enough. But Iā€™m off to a meeting here in a bit, to see whatā€™s up. But for the most part is just try to stay active and alert. I been good, they refilled my risperdal prn so Iā€™m doing a lot better. How about yourself?

Iā€™ve been much better since I went on Sodium Valproate. I usually drink Italian coffee but I think itā€™s overrated. Cuban coffee is really sweet, if you want to go in for really sophistically prepared coffee, Vietnamese or Ethiopian is the best. Unfortunately, theyā€™re all out of my price range, Iā€™m stuck drinking Dowe Egberts instant granules at home.

My ex-husband buys Maxwell House morning blend and itā€™s fine. Itā€™s actually good. Itā€™s just coffee, just plain coffee. Once I get my apartment I donā€™t know what Iā€™ll buy, I have to decide. I think Iā€™m going to buy a Keurig mini so Iā€™ll be getting kcups and they are a little more expensive. I priced the maxwell house and itā€™s about 50 cents a cup versus starbucks for a dollar or peets or seattles best for the same. So I have some thinking to do. But I usually only drink one cup a day and a dollar doesnā€™t seem like too much for a coffee really, but then again the maxwell house is fine so I donā€™t know what Iā€™m going to do. I guess it depends on how broke I feel once I get my apartment. lol.

II do think the Italian machines are impressive, the amount of pressure they exert is phenomenal, but it really isnā€™t necessary to make sophisticated drinks. Frappe is as old as the hills and someone really should sue Starbucks for ripping it off. Freeze dried instant coffee is quite a feat of chemical engineering, and very convenient, Iā€™m happy with the cheap stuff.

I donā€™t like instant coffee, itā€™s too tangy for me. I actually like drip coffee best but I canā€™t drink a full pot of coffee so the keurig makes most sense for me. I donā€™t know, maybe I get a drip and make 1/2 a pot and just drink a little more coffee. That seems silly though. idk.

We use hobs to make Greek coffee, not as traditional as charcoal but I doubt it makes much difference. I do know what you mean about filter coffee, Greek coffee can be a bit to full of sludge and grit, though it can be fun to turn it upside down and predict the future. My mum uses organic unchlorinated filer paper, which gives a better taste, but as you say, itā€™s really for making coffee for a minimum of two people at least. The Royal Society (originally a society of mostly chemists and astronomers by Royal appointment) was founded in a coffee house. Itā€™s first interest was the science of life extension. The new science of chemistry was thought to offer the path to eternal life in a way that had only been thought of as a myth before. Iā€™m meaning to read up more about it.

I am drinking my second cup of filtered coffee.
Didnā€™t sleep well, I reduced my meds dosage on my own and then couldnā€™t sleep from racing illogical thoughts so I took the rest of the dose after two hours and was able to sleep. Now I feel much better, no more thoughts problem.

We use Kirkland dark roast Colombian coffee, we all like it and its not expensive.

What is the difference between drip coffee and filter coffee. Iā€™m assuming its the same thing, just alternate names?

Yes its the same, I cheated by googling lol

Cold brew never really took off, at least as far as I know, probably because it costs a fortune. They do sell it in Costa though.

Honestly I never was a coffee drinker until 2 months ago and I am now 30 y.o. The reason is that if I donā€™t drink coffee often during the day I sleep all day, 15+h/day, because of my 4mg Risperdal. I didnā€™t have this problem with the other 3 antipsychotics I tried but I had worse problems with them. So now I am enjoying coffee and its also helping me stay awake during the day.

I like Tim Hortons Icecap and Starbucks Frappuccino cold coffees.

I donā€™t want to go on about it, but coffee drinking is about one of the only activities I do in the day. As a final comment, Iā€™ll say that Iā€™m quite intrigued by the cans that have come out recently in the corner shops. Sometimes when Iā€™m delusional I think corner shops are labs for the pharmacists.

In my old life in America I once travelled to Venezuela and visited their coffee areas. It was interesting to see them to process their coffee beans on the road when the sun was shining, it was a good trip, waking up in the rainforest and having strong local coffee in the morning. I liked my trips to various nations when I lived in America. Would like to taste Jamaica*s Blue Mountain coffee. Those were different times.

I had my morning cup of Folgers coffee earlier. I might make another cup a little later.
