It is another Friday evening again and I had my candle light ritual. Many thoughts came to my mind. This one week has shown that the future can be so unpredictable. Who could have seen the refugee crisis coming in the middle of Europe in the modern European Union? Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are seeking safety in the western Europe. They are innocent war victims, but there are also victims on another side of this conflict. The Russian people face now new economic hardships and uncertainties caused by many sanctions. Many Russians are taking the train from Saint Petersburg, Russia to Helsinki, Finland to find safety in the European Union. We can only watch and see what happens in the future, but my thoughts are that the war shall continue to the distant future and more refugees shall seek safety in the European Union. This is already the year 2022.
I feel like people like you and me, who draw attention to the collective will prevent more tragic things from happening just by advocating peace. There is only so much a common person can do. But our leaders do hear us, and sometimes simple things like writing a letter can make an impact. Social media is a good resource too, but you have to be very direct and I think more private with the information in who you want to reach.
Popularity of a movement doesn’t make it right. My dad says he always pays more attention to what is least popular than what everyone is heading toward. That makes some sense to me. Often whats overlooked can be important too.
Sometimes a symbolic action like lighting a candle can mean a lot. Or a candle-light vigil, can quiet the mind…I feel like people uniting around compassion can be a force of progress. Scientific, spiritual, and all around saving the planet.
I woke up after sleeping well in this morning. I had no milk and no orange juice and so I decided to walk 100 meters to my local grocery store. Once I walked to the store I saw one Red Cross person collecting money and I asked for what purpose she collected money. She said that the Red Cross is collecting money for Ukraine. So this is how near the war has come to my neighborhood here in eastern Finland. I would have given some money but I had no cash, not even a coin in my wallet because I always just use cards to pay my grocery purchases. The war shall continue to the distant future and see what is happening in southern Ukraine, especially in Odessa.
The world is changing. Now Finland is doing more cooperation with the USA and surprisingly purchasing air defense weapons from Israel. I was in the air defense but I never saw an air defense weapon, I was just a scribe. I can write

Isn’t Finland where the best universities are? I have always heard that Finland has a good education system. Do they have free healthcare or private insurance? Do they do UBI? I hope that someday USA does UBI for those making under $50k and those with disabilities. It would help those who are trapped in the system of poverty.
