By 1994, the world seemed at his feet. He’d worked for Ticketmaster for four years and completed a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Then, the previously atheist Davis experienced a “revelation from God.” Something which a fair few right-thinking people have had in their time, yet Davis then also started experiencing manic episodes and extreme paranoia. He was diagnosed first with severe bipolar disorder, then schizophrenia. However, just about the only topic that Terry Davis could make sense about was computers, and he never stopped working on new programs, including one in 2005 that would be considered his masterpiece in due course.

Yeah, I posted an article on this a year ago. I remember @anon82948922 saying some negative things about the operating system. Here’s a summary of it’s pros and cons:
Summary
| Category |
Pros |
Cons |
| Technical |
Elegant design, fast, compact |
No networking, outdated hardware support |
| Educational |
Teaches OS internals, custom language |
Unsafe environment, limited documentation |
| Creative |
Inspiring personal vision |
Not practical for general use |
| Interface |
Instant boot, unique experience |
Outdated visuals and controls |
Bottom Line
TempleOS is best understood as a digital art piece or a technical curiosity — not a practical OS.
It’s a window into one man’s genius and struggles, showing what’s possible with deep understanding and personal dedication. For hobbyists and students, it’s a valuable system to explore conceptually — but not one to use daily.
