Most impressed you’ve ever been by technology

For me it was the jump in graphics from ps1 to ps2. I remember watching the cutscenes in final fantasy 10 and just being completely blown away.

My first iPod Touch. All that functionality and in my pocket. Best of all, no phone in it.

I’m not sure if its the most impressive technology i’ve ever seen…but I think I’ll go with that artificial bionic leg I posted and article about a few days ago. It seems like a good choice for one of the most impressive.

Im actually kind of relieved I’ll likely be dead in 20 years. Give AI 20 years and mix it with those robots in 20 years and you might have :

Probably the Boston dynamics dog robot or when AI images first became a thing.

I remember back in the 1970’s there was talk of making a phone where you could see the person you’re talking too. I think they had primitive versions of these in the '70’s and 80’s but Facetime just kind of snuck up on me and hit me by surprise when I bought my iPhone and my laptop and I realized that technology was here.
Is it cliche` to marvel at all the things an iPhone can do?

Not at all. Thinking about it now I have a chess app on my phone that has an ai in it that could either beat or give Magnus Carlson a serious run for his money. iPhones are magic.

Lol I saw an old painting of soemthing like this before the days of cellphones. It was like a picture of a guy on an old style Abraham lincoln times phone with a circular screen on front of him with an image. I guess they even knew back then it would be possible but the outcome was quite different.

Apparently it’s from the 1930s but you never know with the internet

I’ve been fascinated by the CERN Large Hadron Collider for a long time.

Totally amazing to me they can accelerate protons to near the speed to light and collide them together.

I really like the fact that you can control Spotify with your phone or PC and it’ll play on your selected device… :grinning:

Also, touch screens are awesome!
