My pdoc says I have TD but my neurologist says I have Parkinsons. I noticed when I got my latestest shot of Invega Sustenna my symptoms(hand tremoring and mouth quivering ) got worse. Current I’m taking 2 mg of Cogentin. Should I ask my pdoc to bump it up to 3mg?
Yes. I need 3 mg of Cogentin. So it’s possible you need a higher dose
I was prescribed 2-4mg Cogentin taken as needed for tremors and akathisia. Sometimes I took 2 and sometimes 4mg.
Does 3 mg take away all your symptoms?
Td is sometimes called Parkinsonian effects
@anon67051439 Are you still on Cogentin are do you take something else?
cogentin doesnt help TD but it can work for other EPS
if u take a look at google every source says anticholinergics are not helpful for TD and can make it worse. i have td and used to be on cogentin (benztropine). one thing that does help is clonazepam (so id think other benzos would too) but benzos can really mess you up if you take them regularly (usually when you try to stop because they can easily cause a dependency) and since TD is something that if you are treating it you would need consistent treatment i think benzos are not the best thing either
Yes. 3 mg of cogentin (benztropine) takes away my symptoms
I had akathisia and tremors on high dose Risperdal and Latuda. Now I am on low dose Risperdal and there is no need for Cogentin.
@cigarino What do you take for your TD?
