I had an appointment today and we talked about me getting on Cobenfy. The drug rep came with samples and she asked him what could I do since I don’t have insurance. He said they have a patient assistance program but I would have better luck using a specialty pharmacy out of Orlando. Apparently they work the system for brand new medications that make them affordable for the uninsured. I’ve never heard of this. But that could be an option for those who can’t afford it. My psych wants to hold off on putting me back on medication though because she said I’m doing really well (despite my eye problems and muscle spasms) but she said I may not be able to take the new med because I have high blood pressure. So that would be a bummer. My blood pressure is insanely high right now. I think it’s because of my weight gain. It’s never been like this before. But we’ll see!
Wishing you good luck with it. Med changes are always nerve wracking.
Thank you! & yes they are. Seems like there’s some hoops to jump through for this new one. Gotta get blood work done & then be monitored at the beginning to see how I respond
I have high blood pressure too it sucks
It’s crazy! I hope I can get it to go down. My psych said she would prescribe propranolol if I were to get on cobenfy but I’ve read propranolol can cause insomnia. I’ve already been dealing with it from AP’s. So idk. I’m gonna try cardio & upping my leafy greens
Ive been eating pistachios it lowered my diastolic by ten points.
Oh wow! I’ll have to try that. I don’t really eat the cleanest but I also don’t eat terribly. There’s a lot of carbs in my diet
Interesting enough I checked my bp this morning and it was still high. Took some cayenne extract & ate a raw garlic clove & my bp is wayyy down and reading normal. So I’ll keep at it & see if it stays that way
