Early on, and most through my illness,
poems from people I knew might have been about me, weren’t,
or, hard to tell, but I drew it all in like the most personal connection.
Songs on the radio. Are they all about you? No. But you plug them in,
and even find some that get too close to who you are, you’re disturbed.
the best way is to imagine another woman they are talking about,
another situation they are addressing, think beyond what it means to you.

I often feel that songs on the radio and commercials on TV are aimed at putting me down. I just think I have no control over them but I’m not going to let them get me down and turn the station until they stop.

I understand what you mean. I thought Bohemian Rhapsody was written about/for me when I was psychotic.
