Oh yeah I get that, I developed sz really young and have since then felt my imagination was… lacking, I can barely picture images in my head and struggle creating full concepts so I usually end up drawing the picture improv-style and THEN explaining it, if that makes sense. Can draw really fast though, and recently found a creative partner who can think extremely clearly but draws slowly, together we’re like a fully functional artist lol.
There’s a lot of ways to do that kind of concept-based artwork, some artists do it using human forms and expression to help the viewer relate and others with more abstracted symbols. It’s not always my style, but someone like DestinyBlue likes to represent concepts, especially related to hardship and taking care of oneself, through these glowy drawings like this and this one too, maybe worth checking out?
