Hello Im New here I realized most of the topics Im interested in are locked but…
Since 2020 my looks have changed. I was a gorgeus kid went through less attractive stage. And became the Young adult version of me as a kid.
But then I got sick my sz was basically me thinking i was a godess so my confidence and looks skyrocketed.
I started with zyprexa gained 16kg still felt gorgeus. Suddenly changed to abilify my looks faded rapidly and I was only 21.
Now Im 22 my looks have improved a bit. But I still feel bloated in the face and oily.
I have a theory that my brain is doing damage control . Since my looks got me in a psychosis in the first place but who knows.
I have started writing affirmations, saying them outloud and in my head. Meditation . Gonna work out 4 days a week. Wish my luck.
Feel free to share your expirience
Ps : i take paliperidol now but im gonna decrease the amount in a few weeks

Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us
I think you’re being hard on yourself. I doubt the meds took away your good looks. It’s good you’re doing affirmations
A few tips on things that confuse newbies:
Cake day is the anniversary date of when you joined.
The 1515 or other numbers at the end of peoples posts are because there’s a 15 character minimum to post. So people put 15s after until they get to the minimum characters to post.

Meds do cause weight gain and changes in the skin.
I know, I experienced both.
Also with my hair.
But anyway,
You still have control.
You can take better care of your skin,
You can control what you eat and lose weight.
From your post it seems that you are already very defeated.
You’re young for that.
Make changes now and your life will be better.

Welcome to the forum. I experienced a similar path but it didn’t really become completely irreversible until my mid 40’s. Exercise, dieting or finding something to do can slow it down, or at least temporarily reverse it.

Hey Thank you.
Do you think stopping taking medication or atleast reduce the amount will help?
Hope your okey

If you reduce the amount make sure you are comfortable with the resulting psychosis. And ask a pdoc about what to cut. I’m OK. I’ve just got the holiday blues.

I feel the pain I suffer from high levels of imposter syndrome. I am 30 now and as a teenager self hate consumed me. Trust me you are young and the mind and body and brain can take it for now.
Stress plus unhealthy coping mechanisms take a toll but tbh I know 100s of millennials I grew up with and they all did a lot of unhealthy stuff.
They look fine for it bar those who carried on with lots of stress. Genetic predisposition is real lol
Typically, we like to leave inactive threads alone and just start a new thread instead. This is different than how some forums are run, but we do it this way because it frequently upsets users to have old topics revived when they are no longer relevant. It can also be frustrating to the person who revived the thread when they don’t get a reply, because the original poster is no longer active or no longer finds the topic relevant. Feel free to start a new thread on this topic.
Thanks,
