Summer holiday

Hi there!

I’m busy planning my summer holiday and was wondering what you will do. What are your plans? Will you stay at home, plan some extra nice activities around your home or travel? Do you look forward to it or is it difficult for you? And do you have recommendations? Countries I should see, activities you can recommend?

My 5 year old son has 6 weeks of summer holiday. I don’t have a job at the moment, so I want to and have to take time for my son and entertain him a bit.

I’ll drive to France for a one week camping-holiday. It’s a single-parent-holiday. There are other kids my son’s age. There is an animation team that babysits the kids now and then, but most of the time we’re together. I’ve done this before (on different locations) and there is a lot of caring for each other and the kids, so I feel safe. I’m looking forward to it, I’m thankful that I’m stable enough to think about holidays again, but also nervous whether everything will go okay.

I’ve also got 2 weeks without my son. He’ll go on a holiday with my parents. I have no idea what I will do in those two weeks yet, might go on holiday. I’m scared I will feel lonely without my son and parents around. In the holidays I’m always a bit more jealous of my friends and family, who almost all have normal complete families and no illness. But I’m also really happy and proud that I can travel with my son again.

Interested how you are spending your holidays!

That sounds like a great trip for you and your son. We just had another baby so we didn’t plan anything for this summer. Traveling with an infant is no fun. But not doing anything sucks for the older kids because they’re stuck around the house all the time. My girls will at least go to girl scout camp for a week, so they have something, but my poor son is gonna be bored out of his mind.

I’ll probably go camping for a weekend, and maybe spend a week at the beach. That’s it, I will have a small kitten to take care of so I can’t leave for long this summer.
