I’m afraid the stress I experience from antipsychotics is gonna come back in the future. Omega 3 helps against it, but it came back slightly today, maybe because I slept bad, I don’t know.
If it comes back, I’m either gonna have to go off meds, or kill myself, or change meds to something that doesn’t have that side effect.
Zyprexa gave me terrible dystonia can’t take that med. Had terrible twisting of my legs. I would ask your pych doc to prescribe you something else. Good luck.
Yes, maybe a less drastic alternative to going off drugs or killing yourself might be to try switching drugs. There are a lot of them out there to try.
I have that too, but it’s better lately. It used to be unbearable, but I’m taking some supplements that help. I recommend trying GABA supplement which is the main relaxing neurotransmitter in the brain. Zyprexa depletes it so that we don’t get tardive dyskinea.
I take 250mg 1-2 times a day. I tried taking 750mg in one dose once a day, but that was too much, I got dyskinea in my left hand so I had to stop. But if you try a low dose it might be just enough to make you relax a little better while avoiding dyskinea.
I’m a bit scared to try cause I don’t want to develop this dyskinea thing(first time I’ve heard about it I think). But I guess it’s just to stop taking it if I notice anything, right?
edit: That said I think I’m gonna try it out, I don’t have anything to lose. I can just stop taking it if it doesn’t work out.
I hope you try different medication before killing yourself.
Most anti-pysychotics I know, relieve stress because they reduce symptoms and some cause a sedated feeling, which is the opposite from stress.
However, if your feeling tardive dyskinesia, there is a new medicine called Ingrezza, which treats TD.
can you describe where the stress is? i also experiancing stress but from gabapentin i think i get like knots and a sort of restlessness i also should take fish oil
You might try Geodon. A lot of people swear by that drug. Geodon and Seroquel did the trick for me. I lost a lot of physical strength when I was put on those drugs, but I’m 62 years old. I was never going to make it as a Rambo figure anyway.
Stress or akathisia? Afaik antipsychotics reduced my stress but you also have to reduce stress by yourself by avoiding stressful things like work if that stresses you etc
Yeah. If you have any signs of involuntary movement, like fingers moving by themselves or ticks in the face or anything like that, just discontinue right away. When I did 750mg a day in one dose I got involuntary movement in my left hand. Then I stopped and it went away after a couple of days. With 250mg I have not had any problems so far, and been taking them for over a month I think.
And the gaba goes to the brain? I remember reading something that it doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier, but I may be wrong? (or remember incorrectly)
I think there are different theories about it, but I’m pretty sure I can feel a difference with it, so I think it goes to the brain. I wish I was able to take 750mg, because that was the most relaxed I had feeled in years after taking the first capsule. But no can do. Still 250mg helps a little also I feel.
