my guitar is sitting right behind me…after I got hurt falling down about seven months ago, I couldn’t play guitar , my index finger on my left hand, my fingering hand, wouldn’t let me. now i hardly pick it up anymore…kind of sad…
You can do other things like drawing or writing. Did you ever seek medical help about your finger?
That’s too bad, do you think you will pick it up again eventually?
I stopped playing guitar once I became medicated. I didn’t have the desire or the rhythm to hold a beat. I’m just now relearning how to play.
So get back to playing. I’ve broken my knuckles multiple times. Stopping use of something is the best way to make it useless after injury.
Get back to it, boi!
I’ve only been playing every other day or so for like 5 minutes, but its a start and at least helps me keep my one memorized song in my head.
Your finger should be healed by now (if you didn’t break it). Did you ever see a doctor for it? If not, you should @jukebox.
I use to play guitar i played jazz band in high school and college also a band at my church i also was in a few rock bands growing up havent touched the thing since i got on antipsychotics my hobbies now are gaming and reading
@SkinnyMe my index finger is completely healed…it’s not that…I just think I might be a bit depressed.
I’m sorry to hear that @jukebox . You might want to see your pdoc for that as well.
Guitar for me has been both physical rehab, after shoulder surgery and broken fingers, and psychotherapy.
Piano for me is both cognitive therapy and emotional therapy.
