I am running out of hope…my finger still won’t bend enough to reach the strings…maybe permanently that way…I keep forcing it (therapy), to bend all the way but when I try to bend it on my own it won’t do it…sad.
I was working on an automotive when this part gave way and my finger went completely backwards from the middle joint it is my plucking finger and it has been sore and swollen for 2 weeks now it made an impossible to write with a pencil or pen for the first week the doctor said it was not broke but rather sprained severely I work it on a daily basis but it doesn’t seem to get the strength in it it needs nor has the swelling gone down with creams or ice
i totally empathize dr. zen…hurting your fingers when you are a musician is something I never thought would happen to me…now I may never play guitar again…makes me inwardly very angry.
Did you ever see a doctor about this?
If you did break it and don’t get proper treatment for it then it may not heal correctly possibly and you may have problems with it for a long time
That would devastate me as well. I’ve only been playing six months or so, but it would still seem like a great loss. I hope that you are able to play again at some point.
@TheStrange yes, the doctor said it would heal…just impatient. yes @Bowens it is very upsetting.
I hope it heals soon for you. Sorry ur having to deal with this
I’d feel impatient too
