My jaw is getting stiff for hours. A few weeks ago it was stiff and I couldn’t close my mouth for 20min, it stayed fully open, its painful too. I hope its not catatonia, I get catatonia when on low fose meds or when off meds.
Its fkn annoying, I am too lazy to call the Dr.
Is it caused by antipsychotics??
Hmm that’s strange I have tmj but I’ve only gotten jaw lock a couple of times it sounds like jaw lock I don’t think its from meds but I don’t really know make sure to tell your doctor about it when you see him next
I had jaw lock before schizophrenia due to tmj but only a couple times
Did you see a Dr for jaw lock?
they told me to wear a mouth guard and gave me muscle relaxers but I no longer use these and it went away on its own
Thanks, I will put an alarm to call my Dr tomorrow morning.
Man its giving me a headache too.
@johpollck Did jaw lock TMJ cause you headaches? I feel a headache.
No I didn’t get headaches from it
Ok I found the symptoms:
Symptoms of TMJ disorders include:
My mouth often clicks when I open it.
That’s definantly tmj
do you feel more pain when you open your mouth? jaw area?
If it is TMJ they can actually do Botox treatment and inject Botox into your jaw joint to cushion the joint and stop the locking and clicking I used to work at a dental office that specializes in this treatment
Yes it’s a good thing you’re calling the doctor in the morning.
Could be lots of things, including the risperdal.
No same pain but it cracks making a clicking noise.
ok…idk, it might be tmj. My only symptom was more pain when I tried to eat, and they diagnosed it as tmj.
But it is good that you are getting it checked by a doctor in case it is something else
My jaw always made a clicking sound but only since a few weeks its been locking and being painful.
