I grew up with one life.

Kids have two lives today…their real life and their addicted internet persona. And when those two collide, it can be really difficult to navigate.

And parents do nothing about their kids screen-time because they themselves are addicted to their phones.

But be honest.

How long could you go without your phone? An hour…half a day…a day?

I don’t own a cell phone and I’ve never texted a message. I thoroughly enjoy my minimalist lifestyle.

I have a real fossil for a phone. I’m typically on my tablet when I’m online.

Yeah, the internet, it’s a double edged sword.

All the world’s information at your fingertips yet people mostly use it to argue on Facebook.

I was at a restaurant and there was a young couple at the table beside us.

The entire meal they were both on their phones and barely talked to each other during the whole outing. Something ain’t right these days.

Yeah, that is a little sad. I’ve contemplated getting a landline before but I’m too used to having a cell phone.

I only use mine to talk to my mom mostly, and a few friends now and then.

They should come up with an International Day where you don’t use your cell phone for 24 hours.

I grew up without mobiles or the internet. I have seen them come into being but I wouldn’t go back.

It amazes me that I can use my facebook messenger on my phone and talk in real time with video with my ex and her daughter over on the other side of the planet whilst I’m anywhere at anytime. Yeah it’s different but it’s like any technology. It’s how you use it and it’s pointless being afraid or wary of it because it’s here to stay…or until we run out of eletricity and the world goes whack but we are all in trouble then anyways.

I didnt have a cell phone till i was 18 in 2006. Then i didnt really even text anyone properly for a couple years. Someone would text and i would reply like a week or 2 later.

I used msn messenger on my parents desktop computer mostly.
