Standing desks do not reduce risk of stroke and heart failure, study suggests

Standing definitely increases heart rate or BPM (beats per minute) compared to sitting which is why standing will burn more calories than sitting. However, going for a brisk walk, jogging and even running will of course require more muscles to move the human body and therefore increase heart rate (bpm) and burn more calories.

Some people use those simple floor treadmills paired with a standing desk to walk slowly in place while they are working.

I don’t think I’d be coordinated enough to do this.

Tried it. Then had to explain to the ER how I got the nosebleed when it wouldn’t stop and they had to cauterize it. Felt really dumb.
