Here’s one of my favourite stand up comedians, Mitch Hedberg. I like stand up comedy, as it cheers me up. Do you have any good stand up comedians that you could recommend?

I write my own comedy sketches. Mine are good-nature humor, nothing disturbing.

If I couldn’t laugh I would go crazy. I laugh so much just making up jokes about things that would otherwise bother me too much.

I’m a sucker for Dylan Moran

I also like Big Daddy Taz… His sets usually poke fun as his own struggles through bipolar… and growing up in the farmlands of Canada.

I’ve been trying to get my courage up for three minute open mic armature night.

It’s getting up the courage that’s the hardest at times.

For three minutes… it’s only a one topic thing. So I was trying to pick out the humor of either my own mental illness.

When I go for some of the absurdity that I actually SEE… it comes off as preachy.

I think the best comedy is telling funny stories about yourself, rather than the ‘did you notice’ type stuff. It’ll get the audience on your side too. like “when I was in hospital, I thought a pretty nurse liked me, now THAT was a delusion”. Man… that sounded much funnier in my head… let that be a comedy lesson.

J- I’ll look thru some of funnier sketches of mine and post one or two. I totally agree how important it is to laugh. I think you might like them and they are brief so nothing major to have to read.

I always felt he was trying to copy Bill Hicks, but he cartainly was extremely popular.
