Spending money when you shouldn't

I finally caved and bought a video game expansion pack I’ve been wanting for months (Sims 4 Cats and Dogs)
It was on sale, I had money in my account, and before I knew it, I’d bought the game.
I’m going to regret not having the money later, but I couldn’t control myself, and I’ve been pining for this game for months. I told myself it was a late christmas present from me to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

You guys know the feeling?
When you have money so you spend it on crap you don’t need, almost compulsively?

I know what you mean. Just enjoy your belated xmas present. :grinning:

I bought some clothes I didn’t need recently and they don’t fit me because I put on weight over xmas. Now I need to diet to fit into them. It’s such a bummer.

I spend money on steam games and feel so guilty.

Interesting story you’ve brought to us, Berru. I spent a lot of money in year 2017 and I regret it. One third of the money has gone to the items I don’t really need. However I had lots of fun buying things. So it’s worth it.

You said you been aiming it for months means you really want it very much.Beside it’s only one game and you will be playing it,it’s a healthy “want” although not a need

@Berru ,

I buy too many things online. It’s so easy to do.

Many of my purchases are compulsive, so I know I’m trying to get some temporary relief from depression.

This has been helping me: I wait at least one hour before making the purchase. Most of the time I no longer want to buy the item.

it’s ok! everything in moderation.

Nope, I buy games only when they are under $4.

I was on a big spending spree for like a three-month span. But lately I’ve been budgeting a lot better and saving money. I’m still behind on the credit card bill but in a couple months hopefully I’ll be ahead.

I over estimate all things and after spending I return the remaining money to my wife.

I put on weight over Christmas too. It’s a real bummer you are right.

I always say if you don’t spend your money, someone else will.
Sigh…I know.

I think from time to time as long as you don’t make it a habit is okay. I have a real trouble with this if I get money that can be used online. It’s too easy to spend money online.

I spend money on video games all the time. It keeps the interest level high. I was thinking about getting the year 3 pass for rainbow six siege. Im level 91 and have about 160 hours in it. Im trying to get to level 100 and 200 hours. Then id feel i will have mastered it. Id put in 500 hours into it if i had more people to play with.

But people like us that love video games and such we do need to watch ourselves. I always triple check my funds before i make a video game purchase and really think about it

And yea the fan base for rainbow six siege is terrible. The people are the most verbally vicious players. But i don’t care cause to me that game is like an art form. Its like basketball with guns or Samurai training for battle. I just use party chat so i don’t have to listen to all that
