Speech problems

I listen to a lot of classical music. Maybe it helps, I don’t know.

I have this problem as well.

I also find that I want to talk, but I can’t think of anything to say.

I have this issue all the time. It almost comes out drunkingly sometimes. Thats y i have to be with people im comfortable with that don’t care about how i say things. I think people care to much about how u say something rather then the meaning behind it. My advice would be to think less. Yes u might say stuff u might regret but who doesn’t do that

something ive never been able to do. i think like everything and anything.

Word selection anomia occurs when the patient knows how to use an object and can correctly select the target object from a group of objects, and yet cannot name the object. Some patients with word selection anomia may exhibit selective impairment in naming particular types of objects, such as animals or colors.

A side effect of some medicines is difficulty putting things into words. I stumble around + sort of stutter sounds, sounding pretty dumb for someone who’s not. It should be humbling.

I think it’s totally amazing that people can learn more than one language.

They try to make you learn on school but that just didn’t work for me.

When I was 20 used to think people over 50 were Anchient and were all hypochondriacs.

Poof. 30 years go so quick and then you get it.

My lab partner is now 61 and we both are forgetting words all the time. It’s amazing to talk in complete sentences.

I have the same problem, Minnii! I stutter a lot, and tend to break words up when I speak. It’s really annoying and embarrassing.

I have not so far had a problem with speech re struggling to find words but textually it can be a slight problem.
My biggest speech problem I think is with diction. I think I am speaking clearly but what I say
can be misheard or have people asking me to repeat myself.

I keep quiet a lot because of that issue, sometimes things come out unintended, like yesterday I meant to ask the cashier if a scale was sold separately instead I asked him if the scale was sold in the afternoon. Good cosmos, we both laughed but yeah, embarassing.

My old priest had a crippling stutter, but he could sing clearly. So he sang every reading at mass. The part of the brain that recalls music is different from the part that controls speech. I find it fascinating, but I don’t know too much about the specifics.

I tend to swallow my words sometimes. I’ve become a very sloppy speaker. One thing comes from moving to a non-southern state. I conciously enunciate words sometimes so I will be understood and so too, I won’t be taken as a dolt.

Seems like everyone here has a speech problem.

I hate playing back my voice. I sound simple minded/kind of dull.

Yeah, me too. My brother told me I don’t really sound like the recording. But you can learn some things doing that, especially in a conversation w/someone.
