It is so embarrassing. Happens to me several times a day. People try to help me along and that’s so humiliating. I dread having conversations with people. So usually I just stop talking and others I think appreciate my silence.
Sorry this happens to you @FatMama!
Oh man ir is annoying! Then people try to come up with words. I hate it.
I just grab for synonyms when I forget a word.
My Dad was always groping for words because English was a second language. I picked up the habit, too. Is your forgetting words due to a foreigner in the family?
I used to have word salad when I was psychotic. It too was embarrassing. People would correct me and laugh at me.
@FatMama I hate it too, it sucks and most of my friends and family understands and will just wait for my words to come out
Kind of hard to do in person. Although I would be less embarrassed
Yeah, I run into dead spots where I forget what I was talking about. Thankfully I’m not in the business of making public speeches. It can be kind of embarrassing.
Nope we are all Canadian. I have an extremely educated family. Many with their masters.
Another thing that inhibited my speaking was memories of my parents tensions about being afraid their kids would say something they didn’t want us to.
That must have been so hard @PinCushion
I have that problem all the time. It’s so frustrating!
I’m sorry that you had to deal with that especially as a child
