Speaking too loudly or softly

I had never really thought about this that much. However it could explain why people quite often mishear what I say(that or poor diction). Then again when I’m agitated I’ve been accused of speaking too loudly.

I sometimes don’t speak with a high enough volume, but I’m working on it.

But, when I was a kid, people would often tell me I was talking too much and too loudly, and now that I’ve learned to talk less and lower, people are complaining of that too.

Either I haven’t found a middle ground, or there’s just no pleasing some.

When I get excited (energy), I can’t control my voice

Sometimes I speak too loudly and have to be told to quiet down. Other times I’m mute and can barely muster a whisper out. Other times I am the most articulate, beautifully expressive conversationalist and get compliments on how well spoken and educated I sound. Other times my voice is flat, and there’s no emotion whatsoever. It really depends.

I’m also notorious for speaking high pitched, shrill, squeaky when I’m excited. (Also have a TIC where I squeak very highpitched when I’m overexcited) Can’t help it, but occasionally I notice people shutter.
