Continuing problems with threads not opening in current tab when clicked and clicking ‘open link in new tab’ sometimes works but sometimes results in a blank page.
Tonight has been particularly bad resulting in continually having to close and reopen tab for the forums.
Is there any way this problem can be fixed.? Deleting cookies is not a solution.
Try google chrome I never have a problem
I had a problem opening some threads last week (I browse on my phone). But seems to have sorted itself out.
Tried it in the past and didn’t like it,
What browser and operating system do you use?
firefox 32.0.3 and vista. So far not had problem on IE but qualify that by saying I haven’t used it much as I don’t like it.
I’m using the same version of Firefox but on 8.1. I haven’t had any problems with the site. Maybe a little lag when clicking on the title button to get to the front page of the forum but that’s it.
Try this, view the site in a Firefox “Private Window”. See if that changes anything. This isn’t a fix, but something that might help pinpoint the problem.
I use google chrome on windows 8.1 . no problems here.
I read Firefox has been experiencing a lot of bugs. A poster mentioned firefox has a twin browser called Pale Moon.
I use firefox without any problems on these forums. I have Windows 7. I used to have Vista but I thought that system was pretty much a bust.
Yeah vista sucks
You do realize that this isn’t an issue with the browser , right? I just need to redesign the header file to have a link to the home page - which is on my list of things to do.
Firemonkey,
These are strange issues that I don’t know the cause of. It seems like it might be an issue with the ISP (internet service provider) you’re using. I never have any issues. I think the actual servers are on the East Coast of the USA - judging from the time stamps I’ve seen on internal web forum pages.
But it doesn’t sound like anyone else is having the same problem. Can you test on different computers to see if its related to your computer / browser configuration? Can you try in a local library for instance? or another person’s house or school?
Just trying to identify the cause of the problem…
Have you tried deleting your catch files, and browsing history? Maybe you have a corrupt file in there somewhere. I’m not sure how to do that in your browser, I use Google chrome. Every so often I have to delete these files (usually under tools somewhere) and it usually helps me.
I understand it isn’t a browser problem. It is simply lag when pressing the button. I know where it goes, I click it enough times. I was only trying to help by explaining the one issue I’ve encountered.
I have never had a problem with other sites like this though very occasionally the connection to a site is down my end only. Usually disconnecting and reconnecting the router solves the problem or it eventually sorts itself. This is not the same though.
I am trying private browsing but as there can be gaps between problems something untoward might not happen for quite a while.
If that is still a problem I will spend time accessing on a desktop computer with same browser but older version and see what happens.
Yes -problem still occurs.
Same thing just occurred in private browsing mode .
