Some of us might not be Sz/SzA if biomarker exists

No one can say for sure for now that every Sz/SzA was correctly diagnosed.

If biomarker or other diagnostic technique is made available, I can say some of us might not be Sz/SzA.

Just speculating…

The problem is that we don’t even know what sz really is (if it is only one disorder…), therefore it is impossible to find a ‘diagnostic technique’.

Not impossible, just difficult.

This research is early steps in a blood based test.

They call it psychotic disorder, or psychotic episode, not sz/sza.

‘Increased Risk’ …

It’s a really long and complex article, but they had amazing success with utilizing the measures of these proteins in the blood to correctly identify those who would have psychotic disorder or psychotic episodes by the age of 18.

Right now though, the question is if you had a test at age 11 that predicted psychosis over the next 7 years, would you want it, (or would the parents want it) since there’s no established standard of care for children at high risk of psychosis. Although it might reduce the duration of untreated psychosis since there would be less uncertainty.

I know what my major problem is. Amino acids. Lack of. That’s part of it.
