Society Just Hates Us Cause They Ain't Us

I have a good work history, excellent references, and I know how to interview well.

You mean promotion at work? I never worked long enough after having sz to receive a promotion.

Yeah, I’m just hoping I don’t have to end up living on government assistance. I want to get a job. Gonna try and get a job. Hopefully it works out.

If multiple people want the same thing, some people will use any info on you to make you look bad.

Good luck with finding a job. I had success in finding jobs on Indeed. Last time I worked I got 3 interviews off Indeed, I went with the job I liked the most instead of the job that paid more.

I feel like the only kind of job I could pull off would be like a janitor kind of job. Night shifts.

Night shifts usually pay more. Thats good if you can do it.

I went for a senior insurance broker role last Christmas. I had four years experience at the time and the minimum specified was five years. I was up against over twenty other people who wanted it, one with over ten years of experience at my company. The people who made the decision had access to my HR file with my health history which has been fully disclosed. Guess who gets to sign their email “Senior Insurance Advisor” now?

This machine eats neurotypicals.

Do you have a professional helping you to find a job? I have an appointment next week with someone from an employment agency that helps disabled people find work.

Congratulations. But I think it wouldn’t have helped if your peers knew about it. For me personally it’s important to feel accepted amongst colleagues.

Several do. Many know I’m in AA because I don’t drink at company functions.

No, but I’ll look into it. I’m just at a big turning point in my life because I’m realizing my skills really aren’t what they used to be. And if I continue living I’m gonna have to change my life drastically to navigate this illness.

Stories like this make me not want to go back to work. But then yet again, I would raise hell in such case.

To be fair I kinda gave him the ammunition to stigmatize me. I think other people at my work were starting to realize something was off about me, but I don’t think the majority of them really cared.

So why didn’t you tell your boss about it and also sue him?

There is many reasons for stigma in fairness
