Does anyone else have serious social anxiety along with sz/sza or do they always coincide?

I used to. I’ve been self-medicating social anxiety for a decade and a half now, through many methods
So far no meds help. Even when I’m manic I have it. I just spend online to get my mania fix.
It’s why I used drugs and alcohol because I don’t feel comfortable in my self socially…never have… in high school the teacher would call my name and I would try to say “here” but I was too soft spoken to and nothing would come out. Is that social anxiety?

That is social anxiety. It’s a scary thing. Two of my kids have it. That makes me very sad.
Tell them to do a therapy…
Yes I have social anxiety too. My psychiatrist actually wrote a paper on how social phobia can precipitate schizophrenia…

Mental illnesses share the same clusters of symptoms which differ only in degree of severity. Someone with sz, for example, would have social anxiety, psychosis, delusions and negative symptoms that last for the duration of their life. Psychotherapy has a limited effectiveness for patients with this illness. But someone who has predominantly psychological issues can overcome their social anxiety/social phobia with several months of talking therapy because their mental illness is not as deep seated.
Mine has kept me in the house for years before. Baby steps got me back out and around, but walking in front of a camera recording of the governor… that didn’t help much
I had terrible anxiety and social phobia since my teens which eventually led to sz. Nowadays it’s still there but not as bad.
I avoid the public as much as I can
i also have social anxiety. i constantly worry about what to say next. it makes it hard to talk to people
