Both my in-laws and my brother think I should stop taking meds. I’m so tired of hearing them complain about how they think I’m taking too many meds
Don’t listen to them obviously.
Listen to your doctors @cbbrown.
Not them.
I agree with the others here, @cbbrown. Don’t listen to your brother and in-laws. They obviously don’t understand how sz works.
They all just think it’s something fixable through will power. I’m not listening obviously but it’s just a royal pain
My wife used to complain about me taking meds. I stopped taking them and ended up in the ER TWICE now she incourage me to take my meds.
Maybe stop talking to your brother and your in-laws about your mental health and medications, don’t give them an opportunity to chime in with their terrible advice.
People have weird ideas how this illness works, but then again very few take the time to seek information on it, and the only one on TV they want you to discuss is depression, they never mention schizophrenia.
One has to just ignore the uninformed, just say Yeah Yeah and walk away
They usually bring it up on their own especially my brother. He is angry I convinced our dad to go back on meds and am currently trying to get our mom to go to a doctor.
Even I think they’re wrong and dangerous to you. I’m glad you don’t listen to them.
I would ask them why it’s an issue for them and then tell them that they should be proud of you for working with your doctor to function.
