My therapist asked me a lot of questions about my depression symptoms today, and one thing i talked about is how my sleep paralysis is back. I go through periods where i get sleep paralysis nearly every night when im depressed, at its worst i do get it every night sometimes i go in and out of it for hours, so ive learned if it happens a couple times its best to get up and just stay awake for a bit. I had it once last night, ive been sleeping a lot but also not able to go to sleep when i need to.
I don’t know if it’s sleep paralysis but I get dreams where animals or spooky beings attack me and I wake up inmediatly I think they are just nightmares though.
With sleep paralysis you are mentally awake but your body isnt, so you hallucinate and get paranoia
I definitely struggle with it. I’ve gone for years without having it at all and then started having it up to several times a week the last few months. Haven’t noticed it being related to mood though. That’s a good point.
I dont get it much at the moment. But ive had a few bouts where its happened a lot. Scary stuff.
I used to get it a lot. It seemed related to sleeping too much because I was sleeping 15 hours a day. It tended to happen during naps mostly.
I think thats a big reaspn i get it when im severely depressed. I sleep a lot
