Sister adopted a cat with no eye balls that was going to be put down. Has anyone ever had a blind animal? Advice?

Like the title says,

The cat has no eyeballs.

She was a stray and had some issues so my sister’s friend took him to the vet.

The vet recommended putting her to sleep because she was in such bad shape, but my sister and her friend paid for the eyes to be removed and some other medical treatments.

Now she’s fine, but blind.

Has anyone had a blind animal?

I should also mention she’s only six weeks old and will be in a house with two other grown cats.

She’ll need to make certain adjustments and accommodations for the cat but it can be done.
Lots of adoptable blind cats out there.

we have a nearly blind dog…she memorizes her way around the house and gets around fine…I’d say lead her by voice around the house until she finds out where the corners and turns are around the house.

One of my cats has cateracts. But she can still see shadows.

i have worked with disabled animals

when they loose one sense their other senses get stronger

being blind you need to block stairs and let her get use the other cats

she will learn from them where the litter box is and food and water

being 6 weeks she is going to be hyper so prepare yourself for a hyper kitten

best to get scratch toys that smells so she can find them

they tend to like lavender

also scratch boards with catnip in them

good luck it may take a little while to get use to your house but she can become a great cat
