I’ve been having suicidal thoughts for 2 years now. It was 2 years ago my pdoc put my meds dosage up. I hate the way I feel. This is one of the most debilitating side effects of my medication. I wish it would stop.
I wouldn’t stay on a med that gave me suicidal ideation. Full stop.
My Pdoc wont let me change medication.
U may change the G.P in your country…!!!
I’m on Risperidone and have a lot of different side effects.
Increase in Negative Symptoms, chronic fatigue, sexual side effects, weight gain, Hormone/Prolactin imbalances etc…
But the thing is Risperidone is keeping me out of the Hospital and it’s making me able to function to a certain degree.
I don’t think that my psychiatrist will allow me to switch meds.
I’m not under the GP I am under the psychiatrist.
my meds do the same to me. i told my dr and they upped my dosage, i tried it for a couple months but i still dont like it. so now ive scheduled an appt for a second opinion. it seems to me like my old dr wasnt listening to what i was saying. lifes too short to b miserable.
Honestly having Suicidal ideation as a med side effect is unacceptable.
If your psychiatrist won’t adjust or allow you to change MEDS, I would consider finding another doctor.
Having Suicidal thoughts is considered an Emergency.
That’s so weird, usually suicidal ideation is a red flag to pull someone off the med immediately. Make sure you make your doc understand the seriousness of it.
when i was seeing an ■■■■■■■ of a pdoc who put me on a low dose of risperidone (third time taking it) and i had anxiety, depression and i was delusional. he refused to up the dose or change the med i tried to see a new doctor. but i moved before i could find one so i was forced to locate a new clinic and i found a pretty good one. just keep in mind your recovery is also in your hands not just your doctors. if you feel like there are problems and your doctor doesn’t change or try to help you then its time to change doctors.
if your insurance wont let you change doctors talk to a rep and tell them what is going on and see if they can find a new one for you.
