Thanks @Loke. My Mom’s from Kyoto.
She moved to the states after she married my Dad.
They stayed together until she recently passed away.
I say hi to her sometimes when I praying. Miss her.

That came in with Mao correct? I read a book about the history of China. Don’t remember much.

Westerners consider Communism to be evil. I don’t know enough about it to make that judgment.

Mao Zedong (毛泽东) was only the first leader just as George Washington was in the US. Only recent history of China for the past 100 years is being celebrated.

Yes, I understand the American misconception that Communism is evil. However, that antagonistic approach was during the Cold War between the former USSR & USA.

That was supposedly why Americans went to Vietnam. To stop the spread of Communism

The Vietnam War was between North Vietnam & South Vietnam just as how North Korea & South Korea are with the Korean War. Unfortunately many Americans reflect and associate the Communist past as evil because the economic & government system is so vastly different from the free-market capitalist economy and multi-party democracy.

I don’t know enough about it to make a judgement. I do believe people should have certain basic rights which I won’t talk about here cos of the political nature of it.
