Hello so i had a long process over the course of 3 months. Today I am home Stopped with Risperidone, alonzapine and currently taking Abilify. So today i went to the doctor and told him if we can have something for depression, he said first let’s fix up your vyvanse MG to 60. and continue taking Abilify 10mg. the end.
He likes to do everything so slowly, he didn’t increased the abilify which im taking it for 1month. I am very depressed now… feeling very dark… So i went to the open door of the kitchen and there’s this medicine hanging there. ( refilled) called Mirtazapine (Remeron) 20mg. I put it on google and its an antidepressent.
Could i take it without the doctor? He is very slow into prescribing new stuff . I mean i know nothing wrong is going to happen because i don’t take any other drugs. just vyvanse and abilify.
i think remeron and wellbutrin are similiar so probably not because wellbutrin causes psychosis. plus its illegal and illegal stuff isnt okay she could sue you or put you in jail
I would strongly advise against that. You don’t know if it will interact with your other meds and what will happen when you run out? Your pdoc may want to do things slow to avoid any side effects. They usually only change one med at a time, at least that has been my experience. Try coping skills for your depression, and if it’s still really bad make another appointment with your pdoc. Hang in there it will get better.
Both previous posters make great points. First, it’s dangerous to mix medications without knowing the interactions they might have with one another. Secondly, it’s illegal to take medications that aren’t prescribed to you. And third, Remeron has a terrible withdrawal period when you stop taking it. It needs to be tapered down slowly over time to stop it safely.
I’ve been taking Remeron for 8 years, and every time I’ve tried to stop taking it suddenly, such as when I’ve failed to refill it and ran out, I’ve went through a very unpleasant withdrawal that’s MUCH worse than the depression it is meant to treat.
If your depression is bothering you, please discuss it with your doctor as soon as possible.
Blessings,
Anthony
Do not take other peoples meds - this is a very bad and dangerous idea - I would talk to your doctor and ask him about your Moms meds - see if he will prescribe them to you - do not take matters into your own hands.
There are a lot of options for you and your doctor can work with you to find the right medication
