I feel like crying I feel nauseous, I have body aches and pains … And I am coming down with cold like symptoms but it’s not covid as I had a lateral flow test. Should I still go in or take few days off …I started on Monday
Missing shifts this early into your new job isnt a good look. They might fire you
I guess I have to go in.
You can do it ish! I believe in you @anon25873142
It won’t look good. But if you’re genuinely too ill to work, then don’t go. It’s just that you might lose your job.
If you’re contagious with something you should call in and tell them. Most people think that going to work while sick is the thing to do; people figure they’ll “tough it out”. They go in sick because it might show the boss that you’re so dedicated that you’ll work even while sick. While that argument might have merit, I read several years ago that if you’re sick, it’s actually better not to go in. When you’re sick, you will not be as productive but you’re getting paid the same as when you’re well. Not fair to the company. Lots of people go in to work while they’re sick and infect other workers or customers with whatever they got, which in the long run might cost the company more money then if you stayed home. People who are sick are more likely to not be as careful and alert causing costly errors or even resulting in injuries.
This is just one point of view. As a new employee you are in a special position, you don’t want to jeopardize your job.
I’m going in thanks all. I just felt a bit crappy yesterday
How did the job start go?
I feel tired as I have to lift trolleys and notes and also use foot stools where I can’t reach
But overall I’m happy just tired
It will take a few weeks, but hopefully you’ll get a decent routine
Glad you’re happy
