Should I do it?

Definitely good motivation to quit smoking.
You know your budget best, so up to you-- but I will say that money is much better spent on other things besides cigarettes. Your lungs will thank you!
I say all this as a smoker myself. I could buy so many things or be saving up so much money each month, it’s ridiculous.
@Schztuna Your totally right. It sucks. I have been smoking since I was a teen then religiously since my 20s. I recently turned 33 and Im like dude it hit me I really need to quit. But I cant deny, I love it so much. More than most the people in my life. Its like a part of my personality, you know. Then again so is my ego so Im like well I can still feed it, it would just be a little bit different. I mean think about it with this logic if somebody offered you something you really desired to sacrifice something you love, would you do it. If it was tempting right. So mayby I can trick myself. Because ive literally held a smokers lungs in my hands, ive studies lung and associated cancers well, and I am beginning to feel the effects of being short of breath and that still hasnt stopped me smh. Mayby this will work. What would you trade for it if someone offered you something in return?
You may be able to afford it if you stop smoking, but is it the best use of the money you’ll save through not smoking?
@firemonkey well its money I budget aside for pleasure so it wouldnt change the bottom line at all but Im sure I would invest it in the stock market otherwise
Yep, been smoking since I was 19 and I’m 32 now. Quit for like a few years, but I’ve come back to it unfortunately.
I hear ya, it kind of does become a part of you in a way-- especially if you’re the designated smoker in your group of friends.
Can’t imagine what it’s like seeing a smoker’s lungs first-hand. Seeing the damage that smoking causes internally would be enough for some people to quit for sure. But sometimes the nicotine hooks are already too deep.
Using the money you’d be spending on ciggies towards something else you want is a good incentive for sure… The Mercedes is pretty sharp, and you’d get a lot of enjoyment from it for sure.
Not sure what I would trade in return. I’d probably just build up my savings and go shopping a lot more often
It’s a nice car and, if like you said, it doesn’t affect the bottom line then why not? Life is pretty short as it is. I don’t advocate that a person should satisfy every whim but sometimes it’s nice to have cool things.
Can you afford the insurance on it?
I think you should lease the car. Personally I have not had a car in 6.5 years and I ride my bicycle to get things done. We have very good bicycle paths in my little town.
Why not but be sure to be able to afford oil change and insurance. I heard that oil change for Mercedes costs 300-400$ in Canada.
I have never seen a lease for zero down. That doesn’t sound too bad but you will never own it that way.
It’s a cool car @gcar and life is short.
And you are young.
I say follow your heart!
It’s a great motivator for quitting smoking. If you can afford it, go for it!
yeah thats the thing, its going to be astronomical its making me reconsider
thats cool, wish my town was like that but its the opposite
all services are included said the sales man if i pay $429 a month
I wanted to quit smoking, but I was unable to stop.
Somehow I got stopped. I am stopped now for greater than 6 years.
It would be a shame to get a new car and wreck the interior by smoking . . .
I would personaly buy a cheap car thats reliable and good on fuel say $3500.00 to 4000.00 that would last maybe 4 to 5 years and save the cash.
Give up smoking is good for your hip pocket. I couldn’t do fun things and continue to smoke on the disability pension over here so I got off the evil weed.
Cars are like washing machines. A high end car needs high end dollars to keep going and the minute you drive them off the lot they depreciate. It’s not smart business.
Get a loan on a car your going to own eventually. You get some really cool cars for the same price your paying…not as cool perhaps to some but at least you can own it and things like insurance and such become much more manageable.
