Hi, I have i5 1050ti 4gb, 12gb ram and 256gb ssd with 1tb hdd. I want to upgrade to ryzen 3600, 2060 Rtx 6gb, 16gb ram with the same internal storage. It costs 1200 Eur. Should i do it or not?
I need new equipment as well but i can’t afford it.
The question is will you use it? Do you have the motivation to use it or play video games on it?
A 1TB SSD will make gaming way more enjoyable on your PC. It very often it cuts loading times into quarters which makes a huge difference to the amount of time you are “idle” as a player. Other than that your rig is already pretty decent. If there are games you are playing where you aren’t getting the performance you want - then yes it probably is a good idea - assuming you have the cash to do it.
But on a personal level if I were in your position I wouldn’t bother. I’d wait longer until your rig NEEDS upgrading, so you get more value in upgrading. Just get a 1TB SSD IMO. You can use it on your next rig too so its useful even when you do upgrade.
im not a pc gamer but i heard the nvidia cards i beast like. yea if you have the money its a good investment, but im console gamer cant afford pc parts.
Youre probably right, I before SZ dreamed of having a powerful gaming rig. I barely turn on my pc after a relapse. And if i turn it on, i play league of legends or runescape. I wanted a good pc mainly for path of exile
Your current PC should be fine for those games.
Then your logic is that i should wait for PC parts get cheaper or better and get better experience? You think like in 2 years rigs gonna be much more powerful?
If you can afford it go for it.
If moneys a bit tight - bung it on a 9 month interest free credit card - and you got buyer protection as well.
I would not to be able to afford most things without some payment plan or whatever.
I guess IMO upgrading just because your parts are technically not the latest thing is dumb. Its different when there’s a game you want to play and are forced to use bad settings because your rig can’t handle it. But spending 1200 Euros on something just because you can is hard to justify. If you aren’t gonna use it what’s the point
So yeah, I would wait until there are clear benefits to upgrading. Technology ages really quickly, and in a few years time that same money will get you better parts.
Anyways that’s just my opinion.
For those games upgrading your PC would be wasting money.
Path of exile is quite demanding game. I also have total war series like Total war atilla and total war warhammer
- CPU: x64-compatible, quad-core, 3.2 GHz or better
- RAM : 8 GB

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or ATI Radeon RX560 or better
- OS: Windows 10
- DirectX: Version 11

Also i would have mu current pc as a spare if something happened. Now of something happens to my pc im left with nothing
