I say ask her out, but be gentle.
I would ask her out for something casual at first.
Like getting coffee.

Hey you didn’t offend me at all. You can change it back. I was just expressing a personal option. In no way was I offended. We’re good friend. But I appreciate you changed it. I do think it’s a more respectful word.
