Shortly after we got back today, my dad tripped and fell

My dad has MS and one leg doesnt lift up all the way when he walks. When he was in the basement doing some laundry he moved a mini couch that was on a rug. He bunched up the rug just enough that he tripped over it with his bad leg/foot.

He hit the steps going upstairs with his head. It bent his glasses all to crap and knocked them off his face, put a gouge in his nose and above his eye and there was this like 5" radius bloodied bruise on his forehead which has now swelled up into a huge bump.

I think the glasses probably caused the nose and cut above eye when he fell and lost them.

He would not go to hospital to get checked out, but I think he’s ok.

Scary stuff.

If I called the ambulance , he would just refuse to go. He seems ok.

@Bowens Is your dad on blood thinners of any kind? If so, he really should be checked out at the ER since blunt force trauma to the head can cause a brain bleed.

No, he’s not on blood thinners. Both my mom and I told him he should go. My mom about a million times. He refused. I don’t see how we can force him.

Some people are like that they don’t go get anything checked unless it’s life or death and sometimes they don’t go fast enough to live

Well, keep an eye on him. if he starts acting strange or disoriented, then you or your mom can call an ambulance.

Will do. We asked him a bunch of questions and stuff to see if he could answer them and he managed to. I would prefer if he went, but I dont see how we can force medical care on him when he’s conscious and lucid.
