Shopping addiction is a real disorder

When you really think about it, anything, be it food, drink, substance, behaviour or even object, can be pretty much addictive. I kind of had this problem when I was working for the housing department of the province in 1997. I was pretty much pissing my money away by going to Tim Horton’s for breakfast every weekday and spending the rest on CDs and skin magazines, without saving any of it. Oh yeah, I was a real brat back then. In a way, with that having happened, I’m still rather surprised how good I’ve been with money in recent years.

I guess for something to become an addiction it has to harm the individual and also possibly those close to them .

I was once online shopping addicted, just a bit more than one year ago. I spend all my money on gaming and sold the stuff I bought after couple days or weeks. After I’ve sold them, I bought exactly the same things back brand new.

You could also be manic bipolar.:thinking::thinking:

I have peaks and troughs of non essential spending, but am not in debt .

I made debt because I ordered a gaming laptop via PayPal and did not had my bank account covered up with the amount of money they would pull off my bank account. It all really started after I got out of hospital for the first time. Took me a legal guardian and probably five years to stop this behaviour.
