Shooting in Las Vegas Nevada

A 64 year old man opened fire from the 32nd story of a hotel into the crowd attending a concert. He killed 50+ people and there are hundreds injured.
My heart goes out to all of those people. I’m horrified.
And then I also keep thinking that I do not want to hear this guy had sz. The news loves to wrap up a horror story like this with something to blame other than just a hateful individual.

Apparently he was 64 with nothing in his background that would suggest that he would do anything wrong…

The press doesn’t know what to do since it’s not the “usual suspects” and this guy doesn’t have any accounts on the computer. Regardless it is a sickening tragedy and my thoughts and prayers go with the victims.

my step daughter lives there and I can’t get a hold of her

how did this individual get a gun?

I was thinking the very same thing. I hope it doesn’t have a relation to mental illness in some guise.

Obviously wasn’t the IS
Shouldn’t Americans change their gun laws

The problem with that is that virtually every known dictator has taken the guns from the people; Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Paul Pott which paves the way for democide.

@Diana_Ross7 I am sorry but there are a lot of countries with much stricter gun laws than the US and no
government mandated slaughter is taking place in them.

Just offering an alternative perspective. I personally would hate to live in America. I would be terrified with a gun in every second household. Ireland is a neutral country so we are safe in that regard.

Believe me, we’ve been trying for years, but have not been successful so far.

I hadn’t heard about this until now.

They have also made it mandatory to serve in the military for some years.

Everything he owned is apparently legal in the state of Nevada. And he has no prior convictions or anything indicating that he shouldn’t own a gun, according to Nevada law. :disappointed:

I’m in California and the laws are more strict here, but Nevada is right next door and the gun laws are much less strict.

I’m waiting for the media to say he suffers with SZ.
