I have had sexual problems from taking my antipsychotic and I think it’s one of the reason why I stay “chivalry” with touching and intimating,should I go to a urology for some treatment like maybe a PDE5 medication for my sexual issue?
I know it sounds like an excuse,but the sexual problem is really an issue especially for man,right?
When I was having sexual side effects from my APs, my doc prescribed buspirone. It is supposed to increase libido. It didn’t do much for me, but I’m a girl. If you would like to get your sexual side back, definitely talk with your doctor. There are lots of options out there.
Lowering dosage helps. When I was on 80mg caps of Geodon, I had sexual dysfunction. Zyprexa did it too.
60mg caps of Geodon is not effecting my ahem loins. I take one with breakfast and one with dinner. The Xanax does have a negative effect. Makes things harder (or do I mean softer?) and it also makes me build up lactic acid in my muscles quite quickly. That means my legs or arms give out.
Ask about lowering the dose.
What meds are you on and what doses?

I have declined in performance, but don’t think i have quite SD. The biggest thing I’ve noticed while on high doses of APs is a drop in semen volume, to the point that very little came out. Luckily, I have lowered them and it’s not a big deal anymore.

I understand you man I feel the same way I am so down because of the side effects especially sexual, I am on abilify and still have some, decreased semen volume, libido decreased and my orgasm intensity isn’t like it used to be… can anyone relate to these side effects also? Is there any hope?

Well I’m not a dude but am having difficulties. Not sure if it’s the AP or AD as both were started at the same time. Supposedly wellbutrin is supposed to help.
Lowering a dose would help. But you are already on a low dose arent you? My libido returned a bit when i was put on a low dose. Still nowhere near as it was before meds.
I am only on 5mg abilify.My problem is mostly erectile and Premature
I quit Resperidone for this reason alone.
I’m off my AP meds right now, but when I was on Abilify I had no loss of libido at all. I was on 10mg, so not like a huge dose or anything, but I’ve always had a healthy sexual appetite and nothing so far has affected that. Not the Abilify, not the Risperdal I was on before that, not the Geodon I was on before that. I think my sex drive might be bullet proof!
Maybe get some viagra or generic viagra. If the pill is 100mg just use 25mg worth.
ED is really common problem on risperdal consta. Will cause frigidity in females too.
If you did not get relief from voices on risperdal consta, I recommend seroquel. If you cut it up and take hour before bed, you will sleep like baby. Voices never quit for me but I still function well enough to work because I’m rested…still need ambien sometimes when I’m going through someone’s drama party on me, but stay out of the community BS & trash talkers for best relief from it all. Just work and self care, socialize with the nice normals and things go better – you know what I mean. You can use viagra I think…
You can try changing meds. Not sure how common this is but I’ve never had sexual side-effects. Not on Seroquel IR or XR, Abilify or Zyprexa.
Risperadol gave me problems…
