do some ap’s kill sex drive?
Abilify did the opposite for me, I was doing it 6+ times daily. Hypersexuality is a side effect of Abilify.

Apparently . . . Frequent times it is hard to know what’s part of the disease and what’s part of the treatment.

Abilify didn’t affect mine at all, but a high dose of Latuda (120mg) has all but killed mine.

I’m on Risperdal Consta, Geodon and Seroquel and they all destroy sex drive and sexual feelings.
With years of depression and various pills I’ve definitely noticed my libido has gone down
A change in sex drive is from a main neurotransmitter like Dopamine, Serotonin, Acetylcholine, GABA, and others, or is from something else, like other genetic factors.
Recently I posted that mine was severely reduced. I’ll change that to: It comes and goes. I’m on Rexulti.
Yeah, I used to drive pretty far for sex.

I am on latuda and can’t get enough of my boyfriend.
But before I met him I was celibate and did not masturbate for a year so no sexual activity for a year not with myself either and I was fine and had no desire to have sex or masturbate but was content.
It depends who your partner is and your chemistry?
I think masturbating is boring and the orgasm is not as intense.
My boyfriend is the best sex I ever had although I was more intimate with the father of my son because our hearts clicked and I cried on him.
I no longer have a sex drive.

I’m on a low AP (abilify) and would like to have less drive, it just makes me confused,.
I think SSRI antidepressant kills the drive more than AP’s.

I’m getting old. Soon to be 50 and it’s great my sex drive is diminishing. Surprising how good it is without the endless desire for sex. I’m not saying it’s gone completely but I’m on the downward spiral and that isn’t bad.

Abilify side effect is hypersexuality. I stopped Abilify because it made me hypersexual.
And yes ADs lower libido while most APs don’t.
