Seriously considering switching over to Lybalvi

I’ve been on Risperdal forever and although I’ve been pretty stable on it, I’ve been having a very difficult time losing weight even though im watching my diet and tracking my steps.

Also im tired of experiencing sexual side effects like ED and retrograde ejaculation.

Im pretty sure that Risperdal is also making me feel on edge all the time.

Im focusing my attention on the new combination Olanzapine drug Lybalvi.

I’ve done some research on it and it’s supposed to be better than Abilify and Vraylar when it comes to weight gain.

It’s way better than risperidone.

I see my pdoc in 2 weeks and I plan on mentioning this drug to her.

I’ll be listening to her intently

I trust her judgement

Edit: Anyone try it before?

Trying won’t hurt,but be careful…

.5x=7y where x is Olanzapine and y is Abilify. If you solve that equation, you will realize that when it comes to weight gain, Olanzapine is about 14 times worse than Abilify. And, this new medicine that you are considering is half of Olanzapine, and 7 times the weight of Abilify. Who told you it is less worse than Abilify?

AI… apparently because of its other chemical samidorphan it helps neutralize the weight gaining effects of the olanzapine

I was surprised too
But according to Bard (AI)
The combination medication Lybalvi is better than Risperdal as far as weight gain is concerned

That is why it is only seven times worse than Abilify

But, I would switch if I were you because of the sexual side effects. Tell us how it goes because we may use this med in the future. Olanzapine is a powerful medication, the only drawback is the weight gain.

I remember when I was once hospitalized. I was put on Olanzapine. I would also feel drowsy all day. In the hospital they had a weird rule that we had to wake up at 8, and go through their daily regimens. I don’t know how I sustained it but as I remember it, it also made me drowsy.

With this new medication, you may read that significant weight gain occurs in 25 percent of people instead of 50 for Olanzapine. That doesn’t, however, mean that it is better than Abilify as far as weight is concerned. Abilify is a weight-neutral medication supposedly.

I would recommend going on this new medication. Plus, you can always take a weight loss medication. I take contrave for weight loss.

In a year KarXT will go on sale. An antipsychotic that doesn’t make you gain weight. So you won’t have any more problems with weight gain.

Can’t be any worse than risperidone

But thanks

No it isn’t. I had sexual side effects on Risperidone and couldn’t tolerate them.

Currently, I am on Amisulpride. I have sexual side effects on Amis, but Abilify and Metformin in conjunction lower prolactin to an extent that I have a healthy sex drive.

There are ways around weight gain because of Olanzapine. You should try this new medication, and if it causes weight gain, consider contrave for weight loss. Contrave has Burpropin as an ingredient and it could also help with the cognitives. Or, there are newer weight loss medications in the US. Risperidone sucks-- you should certainly try this new medication.

Yeah I can’t take antidepressant drugs so I wouldn’t be able to take Contrave

I go in mania too. It is a unique type of antidepressant which doesn’t cause me mania.

Have you ever been on olanzapine before?

I would never consider olanzapine personally because of how people get insomnia that never goes away when getting off of it

Yes I was on Zyprexa for one month years ago.
I didn’t gain weight but I was only on it for one month at a low dose, 7.5mg

My doctor at the time took me off it because my blood glucose levels shot up to 165 but Lybalvi has minimum effects on blood glucose levels

I’m looking into Lymbalvi for my mum who’s on Zyprexa and now is XXX so I’m very worried for her.
If anyone knows when it comes to the EU Please share.

I’ve been on Lybalvi going on a year. No weight gain and my appetite has lowered. I take it with rexulti and I get restless legs about 2 in the morning every night. It’s terrible in that regard. Good things.
