Seriously considering going back on Abilify

The first time I was taking Abilify, I was also taking Tegretol.
Tegretol decreases the effectiveness of Abilify by 70 percent!

This time round I’m not taking Tegretol so maybe Abilify will be even more effective.

I had serious discussions on the matter and my Father thinks that I should give Abilify a second chance.

I talk with my psychiatrist next week and I will see what she thinks about it.

I’ve got to do something about these awful negatives and sexual dysfunction.

Wish me luck! :slightly_smiling_face:

Good luck @Wave but be mindful that Abilify causes excessive risk taking and gambling in some people. Negatives are terrible. If you can find a way to reduce negatives significantly then go for it!

No it didn’t do this to me @Unclehenry Thanks

@Unclehenry Vraylar is like Abilify but without addiction side effects. I called the company that makes it and they said it will come out in Canada end of this year. I am waiting for it!

That’s encouraging @anon67051439. Please let me know when it does. Put me on the waiting list!!!

Where did you get that information that it reduces to 70% ? I think I was on oxcarbazepine when abilify didn’t work for me

I really wish you luck!

A couple of weeks ago i changed from Abilify 10 mg to Amisulpride 200 mg because i thought it would be better.
IT WASN’T. I was very unstable, dark and drowsy.
Now i’m back on Abilify 10 mg + Olanzapine 2,5 for sleep and at bit of Mirtazapine and now i feel a whole lot better.

I’m on Abilify. It’s better than any other Ap’s I’ve been on. I wish you luck.

I think that oxcarbazapine has similar effects on the effectiveness of Abilify.
Not exactly sure though.

Look it up on the drug to drug interactions on Abilify and Tegretol.

Tegretol reduces Abilify by 70 percent thus rendering it less effective.

Good luck with that @Wave I’m also on abilify.

Thanks @Qwerty :slightly_smiling_face:

Did you look it up @Shrimpramen?
Did you find it yet?

Shocking isn’t it?

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I’m worried about leaving the risperidone and going back to Abilify.

I remember being extremely anxious and more paranoid on Abilify.

What if I get worse and have to be hospitalized.

I see my psychiatrist early next week and I’m so confused I don’t know what to do?

I guess I can live with sexual dysfunction.

But I don’t know if I can continue with the negatives and weight gain.

Ugh I’m so confused! :sob:

Ask your pdr? Take a higher Abilify dose without Tegretol?
