Several times a day I’ll see out of the corner of my eyes real black objects like shoes transformed as rats I don’t necessarily see them as rats (typically the image is blurry) but I’ll think or briefly “know” that they are rats. What’s going on?

Maybe it is time to either change or up your medication?

Sounds like your imagination is on overdrive. Hopefully you have better luck with a better med.
Have you tried a modern antipsychotic?

There is a difference between hallucinations. Some are real hallucinations; you don’t notice the difference between reality and the things you see.
What you are talking about is an overinterpretation of a visual stimulus. Hallucinations is graded, and I think what you are talking about is a “mild degree.” A visual distortion.
You have your reasons not to take AP’s, but sometimes I think it might be good for you take a very low dose of AP. Sometimes you seem stressed by the things you are experiencing and the thoughts you have.

I see dogs out of the corner of my eyes or objects looking like snakes or some other animal.
I’ve always thought of it as the imagination running wild.
I wouldn’t suddenly up your meds over something like that

A few years back, it was around Christmas time if I remember correctly, I kept having my familiar hallucinations of something black scurrying out of the corner of my eye. It would happen every evening as I was trying to relax in front of the tv. Every time it happened I would startle a little and tense up and say I’m hallucinating. But just go back to watching tv. My husband was always on the computer with his back to the room. One night it happened and my husband was facing the room and to both of our surprise he saw it too. We had a mouse. It just so happened that it took the same path that I typically see bugs crawling when I see things, out of the corner of my right eye.

There are a lot of rats out there, and they are unfortunately very real 
In the spring i caught a MTF in a trap with a prune.

All the time. It’s like little gray scatterers that go at high speed across my floor at random patterns
