Schizophrenia patients with high intelligence: A clinically distinct sub-type of schizophrenia?

Let’s not bash medication- I scored into remedial math whilst psychotic and now I have a 3.8 and made an average score on the math of the GRE. I made a 149/170 which is mediocre but a far cry from not knowing basic algebra.

Medicated GPA: 3.98
Umnmedicated GPA: 3.4
GPA all together 3.8

always wondered… what exactly makes one smart? I mean… I’m ■■■■ all at maths, but a champion of the calculator…not good with words either, but a brilliant music chooser… i dont understand.

Edit: wasn’t directed at dr. mortimor, with all respects

The academic operational definition of intelligence is the ability to reason a solution to a problem. There are different levels of intellect, distinct from intelligence. Intelligence is basically the ability to solve problems and the motivation to do so.

Being talented has nothing to do with the academic definition of intelligence, nor does being creative. I am very talented athletically, yet I did not ace the GRE, I just did well enough to get into a good school. I am a mastermind when it comes to lifting weights and fighting, I used to be a powerlifter and before that I was a fighter. I was the second highest rank in both sports.

Intelligent people are better in keeping up appearences and their delusions are more complicated. A high iq is often a burden for the person himself.

You would think that Jacob. High IQ people are at an increased risk of suicide in the acute phase , but once they move out of the acute phase , their prognosis is much better than people that have a lower IQ. The reason being is their reasoning and analytical skills are better and they are more likely to be medication compliant.

Edit: I’m talking statistically speaking , but there are people that buck that trend!

I’m just your average Joe Shmoe when it comes to IQ, but for some reason I’m off the charts on every Creative Intelligence test I’ve taken.

I’m half Scottish/ half Irish…so I tell people I’m a cheap drunk!

(Ba-Zing! Hoo Hah!!)

Im not convinced I was tested at the right times in my life
Before sz it was above 120,
But as a very basically just out of hospital bod it was down to 115
I think there are times I could have done better
I have never heard that about iq, but I knew I had a lot of mania and few negatives
