I don’t know how legit this is but hopefully something good comes out of it for people suffering from schizophrenia.
I have psoriasis and I think this might be because of immune system problems? I am not entirely sure if it is a immune system problem but from what I read I think it might be.
Early days but any advance is welcomed.
My ma has had a stage 3 melonoma and she’s on immuneotherapy is keeping her alive. It’s advances in things like lung cancer are amazing…
I’d hope it would help. I await such things and with better medical technology we don’t have to suffer anymore…we need it!
I heard this before
Glad they are researching
Fingers crossed
I have a smallish, scaly patch on my chest that may be psoriasis (plaque?). I am apparently at 14x the risk of it. My genetic risk is higher than 98% of people.
My genetic risk for rheumatoid arthritis is higher than 94% of people.Chronic lymphocytic leukemia, which involves immune dysregulation , genetic risk is higher than 98% of people.
Those are my top 3 in terms of x risk according to Wegene. Psoriasis x 14.04 RA x 3.73 CLL x 3.33
Then further down the list there’s sarcoidosis x1.39, genetic risk higher than 89% of
people. Behcet’s syndrome x1.7 genetic risk higher than 78% of people.
Curious, does wegene measure sz risk?
Did anyone in the UK watch the BBC doco Trust me im a doctor mental health special? It had something about this trial on it, I dont trust VPN’s and dont live in the UK so im unable to watch BBC iPlayer.

Yes, it measures it . You have to have your dna done at 23andMe or Ancestry and then upload raw data to Wegene.
Here are my mental heath risks.
Bipolar x 1.42 risk higher than 79% of people
Depression x 1.24 risk higher than 79% of people

ADHD x 0.76 risk higher than 6% of people
Schizophrenia x 0.05 risk higher than 10% of people
With the schizophrenia risk it says .
The accuracy of the test results
Limitations of genetic testing
• The test can not cover all the sites that are relevant to the project
• Genes are just a few of the factors that affect the traits. Other possible factors include the living environment and lifestyle
• The result can not be used for clinical diagnosis
• The current database sample size has not yet reached the desired number but the result will continue to be optimized as the number of participants increases
