Yes, also natural selection/ evolution should have got rid of schizophrenia if it was genetic.
Glad to see that someone is saying the emperor has no clothes.
You do have to register to read the article unfortunately.
By that same logic, Sickle Cell Anemia should have been negatively selected. But the relatives of Sickle Cell patients do pretty well when they get Malaria. One-half of the Sickle Cell mutation protects against Malaria but the full expression of the mutation results in Sickle Cell.
I like to believe Scz is very similar. We have genes for creativity/intelligence that are overexpressed. This is how I think, may or may not be true . . .
I saw a similar article recently. And although one of the researchers is meant to be renowned i also thought he eas quite controversial
Interesting. I believe this to a degree. ![]()
Environmental factors have to do with the development of sz. That’s why in identical twins sometimes one twin is affected and not the other.
Plus theres heaps that can cause psychosis drugs, inflammation, vitamin deficiencies, Lyme disease, toxoplasmosis gondii infection.
Personally I tested positive for t. Gondii - which latent infection is linked to sz. Starting a parasite cleanse when I get to my new home…
You may find this article eye opening
I had a traumatic birth so since my brain was deprived of some oxygen i was fertile ground for developing schizophrenia. A lot of things probably should have naturally been selected out but here we are.
this is transmitted by cats isn t it.i was always adopted and feed the homeless kitten in my house when i was kid.they were always scratch me.i think i m also positive at that parasite
Yes, it is. You can get it checked with a blood test. That’s what I did. Then my doctor told me it has nothing to do with schizophrenia, but I’ve read enough to know she was just ignorant of the connection.
I can’t read the article.
I agree with a lot of the above.
I think there’s several factors. I don’t believe it is a genetic illness. I do believe that we maybe do have traits (e.g. creativitiy, sensitivity) that make us less fit for the current f*cked up society. That’s something different than an illness.
I also think there’s many factors…diet, hyperhygiene, infection, microbiome, medication or drug use, abuse or weird communication styles in family. Some of these are passed from parent to child in other ways than genes.
I want genetic therapy for sz, i will be gmo certified modified genetic human
I’ve been wondering before…when I was a kid, we had a cat that had diarrhea and was ill and pooped everywhere we played. Who knows. Might get checked for the tox. gondii.
Strangely…my kid loves every single animal…but is terrified of cats…and stays faraway from them. Instinct?
It’s worth getting checked. Apparently it’s quite hard to get rid of completely as the parasite makes cysts in the brain and walls itself off. I’m trying a parasite cleanse that crosses the blood brain barrier. It’s by a company called ‘roger’s hood’ it’s quite expensive though
I’ll check it out. Thanks. Do you know what meds/herbs are in it?
I think there’s a lot of different things and it is organic. Worm wood is one thing, also I think cloves. Check out their website for more info. Apparently it’s quite an ordeal to go through a cleanse too as when you’re killing the parasites they excrete a whole lot of toxins they’ve ingested. Mood swings are to be expected ![]()
Uhoh. Good luck then…I hope for the best for you.
Thanks! I’ll definitely need it! Not even sure if I’ll be able to complete it ![]()
