Scary incident at the park

I was walking in the park with my good friend, David. We were approached by this young man probably in his early 20s who said he overhead a man ask these two young girls if their parents were around and they both said no. He asked us to confront the man with him. The whole thing felt off and gave me a yucky gut feeling. This man probably in his 40s was sitting on a bench with two young girls sitting on either side of him. He was holding a Bible. The girls were probably 6 and 8 if I had to guess. My friend approached the man and asked if he knew these girls and he simply said “No, do you?” In a harsh tone. So we asked the girls if they were okay and they both said yes. We walked away but it didn’t sit right with either of us. So we walked around the park keeping an eye on them and eventually decided to call the police. When they answered they said someone else had already called and we saw the cops walking in the park. So we approached them and told them the situation. Maybe I overreacted but the whole thing just did not sit right with me. I feel good knowing we at least did all we could to make sure those kids were safe. We have a high rate of trafficking here where I live.

That is very creepy. And you definitely did the right thing. I tried watching a documentary on human trafficking but it was too disturbing for me. There are predators who walk among us.

I’m glad I’m getting positive responses from you guys. I was scared that I was being overly paranoid

You did the right thing @Hanna_Foxx More people should follow their gut instinct and say something if they see something.
