It’s my 2nd shot of Abilify but I’m scared it may be wrong meds or smth
You’ll be fine. Take deep, slow breaths and imagine yourself in a happy place. Calm your mind.
But what if it’s the wrong meds?? I once thought I got the wrong meds when I was at the ward
Talk to your psychiatrist about whether or not it’s the right drug and ask why do you know why.
Do you taking any other medication, supplements or things to cause these kind of anxious thoughts?
Things which can bring these include strattera, wellbutrin, dopamine agonists like l dopa, tyrosine, macuna etc, omega 3 fish oil etc.
If you’re worried get them to run through the meds-giving process with you so that you can watch them doing it.
No i don’t take anything else
I guess that’s worth asking thx
meds can take as long as 6 weeks or more to start working
I have been over 6 weeks on the meds (first pills)
Your pdoc will know when it’s time to try a different drug. Psychiatrists go through many years of training on how to diagnose and how to treat. So your pdoc is your best bet for asking what and why. You should ask why so you know the drs reasoning. I don’t believe I’m delusional, but I still take meds as prescribed just in case my dr is right. This is the attitude you need to have. Due to how much training they go through, do your best to trust them. Take your meds as prescribed. If it needs to change, your dr will know and tell you
Yes but I was wondering if its possible that they give the wrong drugs on purpose
??
No. They don’t do that. They could lose their license for doing that
Why Do i Think That then?? It was the same thing at ward, I was given quetiapine instead of Abilify me thinks
It’s a delusion. Drs don’t do that
But I’m not delusional atm
You are if you think they’re sneaking around and giving you the wrong drugs. Talk to your pdoc about your fears
I will when I meet him on Thursday
Hope he won’t change my meds because thats very annoying
If a med isn’t working, they’ll give it some time, but if it doesn’t help you, they will either change the dose or change the drug. It’s for your own benefit.
